Features of Bluetooth® Wireless Communication

1

Bluetooth® Ver.2.1+EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) enables high-speed communication and saves power

Onboard Bluetooth® Ver.2.1+EDR delivers communication speeds approximately three times that of Bluetooth® Ver.1.1/1.2.* This also increases battery life for the connecting device by up to five times compared to existing models.

*When two Bluetooth® Ver.2.1 devices are connected

2

Compatible with Bluetooth® Class 2 with a maximum connection distance of 10 meters

Class 2 output power achieves maximum data transfer distance of up to 10 meters.*

*The data transfer distance corresponds to a theoretical standard value, and may vary depending on the device to be connected and the operating environment.

3

Easy pairing*

Bluetooth® Ver.2.1+EDR Secure Simple Pairing is employed for easy connection without the need for passkey input.

*Bluetooth® pairing refers to the connection settings of two Bluetooth® devices required for specifying the destination device to transfer data when a connection is established for the first time.

4

Easy switching of automatic/manual transfer

Data transfer is done manually after a measurement. It is also possible to switch manual transfer to automatic transfer.

5

Two protocols supported - Continua-compliant HDP (Health Device Profile) and SPP (Serial Port Profile)

The choice of HDP or SPP is made automatically depending on the destination profile.

6

Software development kits supplied

A special software development kit is available for developing Continua - compliant applications, as well as a separate kit for developing SPP - compatible applications.
